DROID sounds vs. Handcent

Is anyone using Handcent SMS app? If so, how do you turn customize the text notification? I select one for Handcent and the one I had previously selected seems to override it but I can't find where to change it. I've set the default in Settings to Silent but that doesn't seem to work.

I too, am having this problem.  Whenever I get a text, both the stock notification and the handcent notification play.  They are both set to the default "DROOOOOOID"  and you hear one and then the other.  I have set the stock sms notification to none, then it automatically sets the handcent notification to none.  Anybody have a solution?

Open messaging (default stock app, not handcent) then press menu and uncheck notifications.  Then go to handcent and settings, notifications and make sure you have the sound you want.
