Deleting Apps

I would like to find a way to delete factory installed apps on my Droid ALLY. There are a lots of apps it came with that I just won't use. Is there a way to get them off the phone?

Some apps cannot be uninstalled.  You can always go to your app manager and check to see which can be uninstalled.

There IS a way, but it cannot be discussed in these forums. You can visit several reliable sites that can give you complete guidance but remember that it will void your warranty. I plan on "adjusting" my Droid as soon as the warranty expires because like you, I detest the fact that I'm forced to have all those unneeded and inane apps I'll never use.

What are these other sites?  I would love to check them out!  I don't have a myspace account and do not need the myspace app taking up room on my phone, same with the Amazon apps.  Can you post the website or maybe email them to me?

Androidforums.com and androidcentral.com both have information about ANYTHING you may want to know about your android phone.

All pre-installed applications can't be deleted but here is the process to delete apps.

You can remove unwanted third party applications from your Motorola Droid with these steps:

1. From the main screen, press the Menu button.

2. Tap Settings.

3. Tap Applications.

4. Tap Manage applications.

5. Select the application you wish to remove.

6. Tap Uninstall

Search Google for rooting Droid one regardless of which OS. You will be able to do anything your heart desires to your phone after that.

It does void your warranty and renders your insurance useless.

My post was not edited at all

I was accused of being mean to a vzw employee once, but I only corrected him on being wrong and he didn't like that so they deleted my post.

Gerio was most likely speaking of you bringing you the "R" word, the admin usually delete or edit your post when this word is brought up because it is concidered to be a bad word :smileyhappy: because it voids warrenty and is listed as a rule breaker in regards to the forums rules, this is one of the few times that the post wasnt edited so fell lucky but dont think that they wont catch it next time.
