Fennec for Android...

I just tried the latest beta release of the Fennec browser, which they now call Firefox Mobile. It's a smaller file size to download and it is faster than previous versions. Plus there are some really cool new features.

It really looks promising and I would love to use it, but it still has a hiccup or two. I worked with it for about an hour and it hung up twice. So once again, I un-installed and went back to the Xscope browser, which isn't getting much attention, but works as well as or better than any mobile browser I've used.

Keep working on it, guys.

I gave up on Firefox a while ago.  I've been using Skyfire with pretty good results.  I usually just use default browser, and when it wont load a site I switch to skyfire.

I use FireFox on my home and work systems exclusively; better security than Explorer. So..... I took a chance the other day and tried FireFox Mobile beta on my Droid. It took a long time to download and set up -- the sync process with my home puter is daunting to say the least. After all that, my phone immediately crashed to a black screen and I had to do a battery pull to get back. Tried it again --- same thing. So even though I liked the ability to have all my home bookmarks on my Droid, I uninstalled it until it gets more stable.  I guess that's what you get with beta but I still like FireFox for safer browsing.

They just updated it again, started calling it Fennec again (??) and the footprint is now more than half of what it was..(from about 35 mb to about 14) which is good, BUT, I had the same problem with it rebooting my phone so I'm back to using Dolphin HD, which I love.  I'm a fan of Google Chrome anyway.
