Help . . . Some Functionality Stopped Working On My Driod

All of a sudden some functionality stopped working on my Driod today.  I'll go down the list.

1. The home key doesn't work.  I touch it, it vibrates but nothing happens.  No long press or anything.

2. The search key doesn't work.  Same as above.

3. A quick press of the on/off key puts the phone to sleep.  When I wake it up the screen slider to unlock the phone is not there.

4. A long press of the on/off key used to give me three options (airplane mode, silent, power off), now only power off.

5. My wifi settings were wiped out.

6. Screen timeout was changed.

*** 7. I just found out I can't accept incoming calls.  Outgoing calls appear to be working. ***

It started earlier when I was unable to put the phone to sleep.  I was using Handcent at the time.  Actually I first noticed the home key wasn't working then I finally got the phone to sleep after several quick presses of the on/off button.  After that is when I noticed things stopped working.  It almost seems as if functionality was disabled by software.  It seems odd that these different things would be due to hardware.  The guy at the Verizon store recommended replacement but I don't want to end up with a refurb though it seems unlikely since these are still very new.  Maybe a reset to factory default?  Any thoughts?

My exact thoughts. It seems as though the error was created by a bug or conflict between system and application. Either remove those apps and check if there is a change, or factory reset.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike, I was hoping you'd see this.  I deleted all apps that I downloaded and nothing changed so I did a factory reset.  That did the trick.  It went better than I thought, all I lost were text messages.  All contacts and apps were restored and everything on the SD card remained.
