How AND WHERE do I store Market Apps onto my SD card?

When you download apps from the Android Market, they are stored onto the internal memory.

The thing about Android devices is there is no /usr/local/bin/ directory like on Linux where the apps could be stored.  They are stored somewhere else. (I'm not very familar where Java applications are stored on my computer.)

On Android devices, the SD card is mounted to the path /sdcard/

This path become unavailable on the Android device because it is busy being the SD card on the computer.

Because one of the software publishers, Robot Comics, suggest moving any of their e-ComicBooks from the internal memory to the SD card then using the Android Comic Reader to read the files from the SD card, how do I movie these documents to the SD card and where are they to begin with?

(Tip: Create a directory on you SD card called "Books" for storing e-Books, "Music" for storing music, and "Documents" for other stuff. Your photos directory is actually in the directory /sdcard/dcim/Camera.)

As I understand it, you can't store apps on the SD card at this time. That's the way G/M/V designed it. There are a number of previous discussions on this. A search of the forum should find them.

Is it possible to download the e-comicbooks to a PC first and then copy them to the SD card? Will the app find them on the SD card? I purchased Documents-to-go and loaded a bunch of files on the SD card and the app had no problem finding them. I'll bet it scanned the card looking for certain extensions. Maybe your app will do the same.

I went to there website on a computer, and all they had was the Android Market address (market://)

The publisher should fix that.

Currently it isnt supported but there has been talk about Google letting apps be stored on the SD card but if and when that is decided is unknown. If it is changed it will happen in an OTA update.

Well it was rumored to be out when 2.0 came into the scene, and as we see with the Droid that's not true. And, I don't think they would release it soley for the Droid seeing as how we still have our friends over at T-Mobile and Sprint who are still on 1.5-1.6 Update.

welt on the internet there are going to be two updates coming in two months one on the 11th of December  and another on the 27th of January. Not sure what will be in those updates. Supposidlly the problem with the camera will be fixed but hopefully the apps storage is all worked out.

Try installing a file manager like Astro File Manager. It will give you access on the phone to get to the directories. It depends on the developer on whether it can be stored on the sd card.

You can store them on AppsManager.  Especially if you have to reboot your phone for any reason.
