Music files

I synced my eris to my computer at work (not really understand all the ramifications).  In any event it loaded all the music I had on my computer onto my droid.  I'd like to arrange, rename, and remove some of those files but I don't seem to be able to.  I've tried several times on my home computer but no luck, things don't seem to move or delete.  I've "mounted" the phone and I can see all the files (or so I believe I see them) but they don't seem to be in the same order as when I view the files from my phone.

Can anyone tell me how to work with these files.  If I get time today I'm going to try to work with them from my computer at work, maybe that will have some effect.

Thanks,

There is an app called Astro that allows you access to the files on your SD card directly from your phone.  Maybe that will be of some help to you.
