How do I sync my Droid to my PC? Media Link doesn't seem to work.
more info is required
what do you want to sync? contacts? calander? music? files?
whats the os of your pc? what programs are the other data in? (outlook?)
I want to transfer pictures from my phone to my PC, and update my Outlook Express address book to my phone. My PC is running XP with SP3 (I think).
i dont do any of that, so maybe someone else will chime in
although i think to sync to outlook you will need a third party program
One of the Android system's biggest drawbacks IMO is the insistence by Google that you run all your information (calendar, contacts, etc.) through their cloud in order to communicate between the phone and your computer. There is no direct "sync" software for Outlook information. However, you can use Google Calendar Sync to copy appointments between your phone and MS Outlook (no idea whether it will work with Outlook Express, though; it does NOT work with Outlook for Mac). Contacts you can import through Gmail - copy them from your computer into Gmail and they will appear on your phone.
Tasks, so far as I know, will not transfer.
MyPhoneExplorer from http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ will allow you to sync calendar and contacts from Outlook. No idea if it'll work on OE though. It will also sync with Windows Contacts in Windows 7.
You can also setup custom file sync jobs or just copy files back and forth from the PC to the phone.
Hello,
Thank you Community Members for posting troubleshooting tips and suggestion. It is very much appreciated.
If I'm not mistaken, the latest update to the Windows XP Operating System is the Service Pack 4. You will first want to make sure all of the latest updates are installed on your computer.
For technical support recommendations, we need to know which Droid device you have.
We look forward to seeing your response.
Enjoy the weekend.

There is no Service Pack 4 for Windows XP. Service Pack 3 is the latest SP.
Hello to everyone,
Thanks again to the Community Members for your troubleshooting tips and suggestions. There are many third party applications available on the Android market that can help with the Syncing of your mentioned data to your computer.
I am providing a link that can assist you further with applications: http://market.android.com/
Also, please check to make sure you have the latest update to the Windows XP System Service Pack 3. This can help as you want to want to make sure all available updates are installed on your computer.
Also, we do ask you which Droid phone do you have that your trying to Sync?
Thanks,
