SKYPE VIDEO APP THAT USES 3G AND WIFI

I would like to know if Verizon will now allow (as AT&T does) a Skype app that will use 3g and Wifi to make regular and video calls bypassing Verizon's network.  As I understand it, it just uses the 3g data or Wifi data (internet) network.  If Verizon wants to be competitive, they need to do this soon!  And with their 4g system coming, it should be even more possible.  Any ideas to get Verizon's attention?

Actually there are two Skype applications in the market. One for Verizon and another for the rest of the world (or is it just the USA?).

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Don't confuse this with Skype on vzw phones.  This is SKYPE VIDEO that you are referring to.

AT&T currently only allows video to video chat over wifi, they are going to allow it over 3G now.  The main downside is AT&T's network couldn't handle video to video over 3G during their own testing of their Facetime App.  So it's likely it will still be limited to wifi due to insane lag.

Skype mobile is still exclusive to the Verizon network.

I don't know what you are looking at, but I see two versions available.

You're correct in that Skype now is open to all networks.  However the Skype Video is what the OP is referring to with At&t being over wifi.

This really isn't a factor anyway with all the data restrictions, if you skype video I guarantee you are going to exceed the data limits anyway so what's the point to do it on 3G or 4G in that case.
