Swype Beta

I just got an email from the Swype team concerning the beta version for the Android phones that don't yet come with it. 

 

It might be possible to go to the Swype website and sign up for the beta version that has just been released. I had it on my original Droid before I got my X. 

 

Swype is very nearly the next best thing to sliced bread.

I thought it came with the X.

If not your old beta code should work if you still have your email.

Yes, it does indeed come with the X and, I think, on the Droid 2.

And yes, I can get it again from the first email, although this latest email said that the version I installed is set to expire in a day or so (didn't know that).

My post is to inform those that may have missed out on signing up for the beta version the last time around. And I don't even know if that is posdible. You'll just have to try.

Since I have the Dx with Swype already installed, I'm forwarding the beta email (with the user name and password) to my daughter, who has an original Droid that recently updated to 2.2 (I think).

 

I should ask her, but is Swype included in the original Droid 2.2 update?

I used a very old beta on it and it was okay, but if the new beta is as good as the release for the D2 then you need to download it.

 

I use the keyboard when typing out long emails and post on here... but if I am returning a text I put the phone in portrait and it spits out texts faster than I can think.
