Task Killer App

Does a task killer app really make a difference? I recently uninstalled the app. I found at times my Droid X volume when listening to music would lock up. I had to do a shut down and restart.

Never ran a task killer. Never saw the need for one.

I use Advance Task Killer and I notice performance difference, system lags at times without it but runs smooth more with it... Works well for me..

If you have froyo aka 2.2 or 2.3 on droid x, you need advanced task killer froyo. it does make a difference for the most part. Some people report having apps that measure performance report the phone being overloaded. Other say its not needed as android manages the tasks already. I get better life with advanced task killer. An example.. when i play angry birds, it stays open in the background. My batter drains fairly quick. In will be gone in 4 hrs. If I use the task killer and kill that probram, battery lasts all day. Same thing goes for camera and some gps apps.

I use it every once in a while. I find that when I don't realize I have a lot of stuff open, then use the task killer to close everything at once, there is definitely a difference. My battery life is definitely improved once all that extra stuff is closed too.

I've had tons of success with Advanced Task Killer.

Whenever my phone lags and I pop open ATK I notice my available memory is down to 25-45mbs.  After a couple hits of kill all it jumps up to 200mb+ and my touch screen lag and app opening lag is gone.

I have the task killer app. and i have an ally. All my apps that i open won't fully close and my phone will start to lag but then i'll use my task killer and it stops lagging. Completely works for me but it might not work well with other phones and just take up space
