Unable to download applications

When selecting items for download in the market, I get the bar that scrolls across the screen and it indicates that it is starting download but that's all I get. Whats the secret? Am I missing something in teh setup?

I'm having the same problem.  Did you figure it out?

While the app is downloading the download indicator (horizontal bar with an arrow above it) should appear on the status bar. Once the download completes the arrow changes to a document symbol with a check mark. Do you see these? You can then access the application either from the status bar, the app store or the applications tab.
