The instructions above are only for removing a shortcut to an application on one of your home screens. If you want to actually un-install an applicaiton, there are a couple of ways to do that. (Except the apps that come pre-installed on your phone, those can only be removed on a rooted phone.)
If you installed the applicaiton from the Market, you can open Market,, click the menu button, click the "Downloads" which will show you all programs you have installed from the market. You can then click any app you have installed and you will have the option to uninstall the program. Another method is to go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applicaitons... It will show you all apps installed on your device, click on the app you want to uninstall and it will give you the option ot uninstall the program. This method works regardless of if you installed through the market, or side-loaded the program. If the applicaton doesn't show up, or there is no option to uninstall, then it is a pre-installed application and can not be removed on a stock phone.
TO remove a shortcut from the home screen, long press and drag to the trashcan. The trashcan is the App drawer tab.
ok great! thanks. guess i was just not doing it right. thanks!!!!!
When I tried removing apps the trashcan is red and the apps don't go away.
Am I stuck with these apps?
