When I am in remote areas, I place the Android Nexus in Airplane Mode to save my battery by pressing the power on/off button for about one second. Upon the next power on, the system displays "Searching for Service" under the PIN keypad and above the "Emergency call".
Why is the cell phone "Searching for Service", and more importantly is the cell phone using my battery?
