Android Startup Sound

Is there a way to turn off the Android startup sounds regardless of the volume levels of all the other stuff (media, ringer, voice, etc.).  I don't need everyone in my office knowing when I reboot my phone.

You can of course turn off all sounds before powering down (same screen), then turn them back on. But what I usually do that's much easier is just put my finger over the speaker until I know it's done. Much easier IMHO.

Haha yes, I will be using the "put a finger over the speaker" technique.  :smileywink:  It's too bad they don't just have a switch in settings to disable those sounds.

if your phone is on silent prior to restarting it wont make a sound once rebooted.

Though I can't imagine why you wouldn't want that. Sometimes I turn the volume up at my job so that whenever I get text messages, my co-workers look nervously around themselves anticipating little robot baby spiders to jump on thier desks or something breathing the "Droiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid" sound.

Well, I won't swear it's the same for the Moto as for the Eris, but here's what I discovered today by pure accident on my Eris. In a thread I posted about my bootup sounds inexplicably getting quiet, they just got loud again and I figured out why..."media volume"!  When I change my media volume, the volume of the startup noises changes with it.  Might be worth another look for you.  Obviously it's in programs> sound & display> media volume.  Give it a shot.
