Android and It's relationship with You!

With the release of Google's OS, Android, since last year -- some will say that it's tremendously doing well. Others, not quite. If we take a look at leading OS/Phone's in the smartphone arena currently, you might see these names:

  • webOS/Palm Devices
  • iPhone OS/Apple
  • BlackBerry OS/RIM
  • Android/HTC/Motorola/Samsung

One thing that I really do like about Android's system, is it seems to me that its not only Open Source in the OS, but in Google's vision for phone marketing as well. Think about it, we have Android on many different carriers and platforms, and just in case you weren't aware of what they were:

  • T-Mobile
  • Sprint
  • Verizon
  • USCellular

AT&T will be shortly added to the list, I think we can all see a burgeoning growth with Android and the way they handle things. Comparing Android with the leading cellphone(s), I'd say that they are at an alarming rate and other providers/manufaturers have something to be concerned about. For heavens sake, we even have e-readers that are Android Powered!

To be honest, I think that Android has a long way to go before it is dubbed 'The all around iPhone killer', because I don't feel as though that the iPhone is the pinnacle of cellphone amazingness. Android, however, as we know and love is a completely different way of doing things. It's a great alternative for those who don't want the bland "Click here and here it goes" type of UI.

I'm just wondering how the rest of you feel about Android and the way it's operating as of right now. Me? I'm confident in it -- I had an iPhone for about a week until I bit the bullet and went back to VZW even though the signal here is slightly less/worse.

Cheers!
