...it's actually not the same at all.  Verizon has a contract with asurion, which is why we pay Verizon for our insurance and not Asurion directly. In the case of financing and insuring your car, I don't pay my finance company Capital One to insure my car with Progressive.  I pay Progressive directly for insurance and I pay Capital One separately for my car payment.  If we terminate ourselves from Verizon, our phone is no longer insured with Asurion, which is not how it works with cars. I think VZ can have a say on billing deductibles to their customers bill
