Bad advice from tech support then no support

My phone has poor signal at my house.  I contacted verizon and to make a long story short was advised I had to repair my software.  I followed the tech's instructions and used a verizon product to repair the software.  The tech advised me he would call the next night to make sure it worked and he "wouldn't leave me hang".  Of course he wrong about the software and didn't call back.  I figured out how to use Kies and recovered what I could and did a factory reset from the phone.  I have about 8 hours into this mess of backing up, repairing, trying to restore, backing up, reseting and restoring.  I believe all the tech wanted was an updated version of My Verizon installed so he could snoop on my phone.  I would never let the old My Verizon update so he couldn't access the phone.  This version you can't disable or force stop, it restarts itself.  This is all so Verizon can continue to screw with me until I give up the unlimited data.

Verizon has been of no help and took no responsibility for what their worthless tech did and couldn't figure out how to fix the phone anyway.  They don't care how much of my time they waste but they want paid on time every month.  I have had unlimited data since it was first offered, never abused it and get treated like crap.

The only place I have a poor signal is at my house, phone works fine everywhere else but Verizon still sticks to the story it is my phone.  Of course it is!  It knows when it is home and mutes the antenna!  They fixed it once and the tech that was smart enough to do that said it was a Verizon problem of how they switched towers when one got full.  Said I got switched to a tower too far away so he changed something and it actually worked.  Only person at Verizon that actually helped!  Now I am looking at apps like open signal to gather enough data to again call Verizon and hope to get help so they fix their problem with my signal.

Does anyone know how to get rid of My Verizon on a Samsung Note 4 edge?  If so let me know so I can rid of their snooping software.

Thanks,

Dean

First off, the My Verizon app doesn't allow them to snoop around on your phone, it just allows you to manage your Verizon account and pay your bill, if you want to on your phone.

Second, it sounds like a signal issue and that's it. Verizon doesn't program your phone to shut its antennas off when you get home, that's just silly. It could be construction nearby, issues on the nearby tower, or any other handful of possibly issues. But the fact that your phone works fine when you're not at your house indicates it's a signal issue, not a phone issue. If you had good reception previously, then tech support should probably investigate the towers, or you can investigate things nearby and see if anything has changed that could interfere. You also have the option of getting a network extender.

Finally, if Verizon did want your unlimited data, they would simply tell you to pick a new data plan or your service would end, like they did with others who have abused it recently.

The verizon tech said it was the phone, no question it is the phone.  He repeated this many times to me, it is your phone, it is your equipment.  We will do nothing to help you until I can get into your phone via My Verizon because it is your problem not ours.  This has been going on for several years and there is no construction in the area nor has there been.  Again your tech said he need the My Verizon app to work so he could see what was going on with my phone.  He said he couldn't access it and therefore couldn't help me.  It is how he arrived at the conclusion that the software was corrupt.

Federal judge ruled against one of verizons competitors in an unlimited data case that is why they can't "just" take it.  Again I don't abuse my use of data like perhaps only a handful of people do.  I believe I read an article that said less than 1% of Verizon customers have unlimited data and the few that have it not all abuse it.  Offering 2GB of data for the same price as they did to me is an opening to a loosing argument.  Verizon simply wants to bleed every nickel out of every customer they can.

You didn't actually take the antenna comment seriously did you?  Really?  You know Santa and the Easter bunny aren't real don't you?

I was able to rid myself of unwanted apps.  Glad decent forums exist.

Verizon tech said extender required wifi and I don't have wifi.  I think the Samsung phone doesn't work as a phone as good as the Motorola Razr did and I do think since one tech fixed it it has more to do with how verizon has the phone set to switch towers.  One guy said that is in the PRL, Primary Roaming List I think is what he said it stands for and that kind of controls it.  I am gone a lot so getting a return call when I am at home to check things is hard.  Verizon is slow to respond especially on weekends.  I have downloaded the app Open Signal in hopes I can get some data to figure out what is happening.

Actually they can just take it. If they deem your usage abusive. Google it.
