Camera and gallery issues...help!

My camera and gallery suddenly stopped working. No thumbnails in gallery, and when I try to take a photo, it tells me my internal memory is getting full and to delete some files. I went in and cleaned up a bunch of unused apps, and force closed the gallery and camera. It won't let me access old photos to delete them....any ideas?
