I get that Verizon is not installing it. I'm wondering if HTC did? Verizon says they are not using it that doesn't mean it is not on our phones.

I understand that no one wants all information stored on their device but there hasnt been any information that verifies that the information is transmitted and also the information that so many are reporting recently isnt any diffrent than the information that can be tracked through using the SDK for android... At this time I think this is just another thing that users wants to get worked up over.. Another thing that the poster failed to post is that the data is purged regularly from the systems log...
Besides I can run any device with any OS and be able to retrieve the same information... Its time to drop the panic alert with every post about a rootkey or keylogger when in programming the developer uses this data to troubleshoot a device so it isnt always a attack .

samsung and htc have stated that they put it on certain devices at the request of carriers. my guess is that it's not on any verizon devices. at&t and sprint have confirmed that they use it so samsung and htc likely only put it on the devices that go to at&t and sprint.
maybe it's time for some of you to give kudos to verizon for being the only major US carrier to NOT request it on thier devices?

We already know Verizon doesn't allow it on their phones, but it wouldn't matter as it doesn't do anything bad. There is no keylogging, which is the main concern all the misinformed people that speak out about it are ignorantly stating.

Funny thing... There's so many ways YOU can see if it is there or not... All the evidence of being there is in plain site and there is a turorial to find it...
If you don't find it on the Incredible... Then it doesn't have it...

Where is the tutorial? I'm not a tech person, I'm a housewife. Heck the only reason I have the fancy phone is because my grown kids insisted so they can get ahold of me. So any help in where to look would be extremely helpful.

So don't put too much stock in VzW saying "we don't use Carrier IQ". Same poop, different name. How quickly we forget... http://www22.verizon.com/about/privacy/recent/ http://www22.verizon.com/about/privacy/policy/
