Its a rip off. I just paid my $89 deductible and received a replacement phone that did not turn on the next day. I spoke to a manager, they sent me a refurbished phone. I am now sending back their phone.
Save yourself the hassle, but a good case and keep your new phone safe...

Thank you for your feedback. Adding to what was stated, we respect your opinions as people differ in either wanting or not wanting the coverage. It is suggestion to have the insurance coverage in case your phone is lost, stolen, or has physical or water damage. When you file an insurance claim from Asurion, they are suppose provide a new phone unless there are none available in stock or a similar like-device. For example, if there are no Droid Incredible available, you may be offered a Droid X determined by Asurion. NEWS UPDATE: The plan states you will receive refurbished phones, not a new one. Ya wreck your car, do you get a new one??? No.
All insurance is a ripoff. You pay every month for the comfort of knowing if something ever happens you'll be covered. Would be nice to get someone of that money back for not filing a claim.

Allstate send you bonus checks if you do not put in a claim. Or that is what they tell you in their commercials.

I checked into that a while ago. You have to sign up for a particular policy in order to get those special perks.

And you can get it replaced with a working phone.. sent it back and get a replacement
But yes it will be a refurbished phone, i'm suprised you didn't know that
my insurance is in the form of ebay or graigslist. if i break or lose my phone then i'll take the roughly $200 ($89 deductible plus whatever i would have spent on premiums) and find a decent droid online.
Asurion also acts as an extended warranty, when I blew the speaker on my Eris after the one year warranty period, I got a new (refurbished) replacement for free. Good deal if you ask me. Easier than actually trying to save that chunk of money just in case.
