DON'T SWITCH TO SHARE EVERYTHING PLAN - THEY ARE LYING TO YOU

I had a sales rep call me (about my mother-in-law's phone upgrade) but she also tried to switch me to a "less expensive" plan.  Apparently (she said) I hadn't taken advantage of the new "share everything" plan.

I told her that I had done a rough calculation and that I thought it would raise my rate to switch and that I was not interested.  She persisted, assuring me that my new monthly bill would be about $14 a month lower (the lying rep was in Tukwila, WA Verizon store, wish I had time to talk to her manager, but I don't).

I consented, assuming that if Verizon had the audacity to persist in a lie (or if their rep was mistaken) that their (once upon a time good) customer service would resolve the issue after the fact.  When my bill was $80 higher than expected, I called, gave up after a long hold, then  "chatted" with customer service.  All together this was a waste of about 45 minutes of my time.  In the end, not only was their a prepayment affect on my bill, but the monthly charges went UP over $40 per month.

I told her that any consent to change was based upon false information provided by Verizon and that she needed to retroactively change me back to my old plan.  She said that she could not do this.  She would have her manager call me (the next day).  Her manager also refused to make right the wrong.

As it is, I probably have to find a new carrier (not happy about this).  I'm not inclined to give another penny to Verizon when they won't make right a wrong they've done me after 13 years of loyal patronage.  To think they're willing to chuck $2500 a year in revenue over about $70 is mind boggling.

I don't know what that pre-payment is all about, but $40 /mo increase is just about right. On a single line plan there is NO WAY a Share Everything Plan will lower your bill. So yes,you were fed a crock and you fell for it. Unfortunately, as good as Verizon's network is, (an advantage that their competition is rapidly narrowing) their business ethics leave much to be desired in perhaps not all, but many respects.

What VZW did was got another customer off unlimited data and once off unlimited data NO ONE will ever go back.  VZW is way ahead of the other carrier and by the time anyone else gets close VZW will switch to the newer better technology which has been mentioned in a couple of the technology news vendors and the race is off a running again.  VZW need money to stay ahead and looks like they are after improving the bottom line and doing it.  Give you less and you pay more!

Once you switched to the Share Everything Plan, it is very difficult to switch back.  You might have luck with your request IF you request it within 14 days of switching, but otherwise you are out of luck.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I got to say i save 40 dollars a month since changing to the share everything. I went from unlimited texting 700 min unlimited data to unlimited talk, unlimited texting, and 6 gigs. My bill was 260 now its 218. I am very happy with the new plan. You will save money if you change. I could of save 80 dollars a month if i went with the 2 gig plan. So I dont understanding why you guy are slamming the beautiful land of Verizon.

I think share everything plan is reasonable. What I was'nt told was I was gonna pay 50.00 for the plan then another 40.00 per phone for using their services I guess. My old plan I had a set rate and my phone was'nt charged to use their service.Isnt that why Im paying 50.00 a Month for?????lol

I agree, I am saving money on the Share Everything plan. I was able to add 2 smartphones to my plan in addition to the 2 I already had and save around $30-$40/month over what I would have been paying on my old plan.
