Data? Why is Verizon so disrespectful to it's customers?

Why does Verizon not offer us, it's customers unlimited data? When I bought my phone I was told by the representative there that if I wanted to get unlimited data,  he said to go to eBay , search for Verizon unlimited data plans, which I did and there you can buy unlimited data phones from other Verizon customers who we're grandfathered into Verizon. which means these customers had been with Verizon so long their reward was unlimited data. Now that being said Verizon has an AOL (assumption of liability department ) that will switch the unlimited data phone u buy off eBay to your name assuming that u will now carry on that phones monthly payment plan. Now u can have unlimited data, cost anywhere from $500-$3000.00 usd for those phones. Verizon says that it's network cannot handle unlimited data, yet more than 10 years ago at the peak of cell phone sales they offered it to their customers who had been there for a while. Do they offer anything like that today? No, they don't and I feel discriminated against for not being equally treated as past customers. Does this seem fair to you as a current customer? We pay hundreds of dollars per phone and I personally pay hundreds of dollars a month for services rendered yet Verizon is too poor to maintain a network that can handle data efficiently . Data is a way of life for me (because I'm a truck driver) as it is for anyone who has their service because we did by smart phones ,  to use apps and stream, look up, and view things online with these devices because again we bought smart phones. If all we wanted was to make phone calls and text,  well you can do that with a flip phone. Again being online is now a way of life no matter who you are, what u do, or how old you are yet companies like Verizon price gouge it's customers which by the way is illegal into offering minimal services while keeping rates for said services high. Price gouging is raising the rates on things you need when you need them the most, like data, which we all need, well I do just to do my job daily and everyone if they are honest, NEEDS data. It's now a way of life for EVERYONE, YET to Verizon you simply aren't important enough to cater to your needs as efficiently as they should or could even though you are a reliable source of revenue every single month. Verizon has great service, they do,  but when they start offering you only half of what you want, then I suppose for me, it's time to look elsewhere for services I feel are important to me. Maybe you should do the same or better yet maybe Verizon should  change and embrace what we all want including their own employees.

Yes some offer unlimited data but your  allowed only so much at 4g then they throttle it down to 3g but it's still unlimited data. I don't care if they throttle it at least you have the data and it's unlimited.

Throttled data is worse than lower data caps. Especially when the 3G speed to which they lower you is like dial-up modem speed. I had EXACTLY that with Sprint, except they weren't throttling me. Their network just stinks that badly! In the wireless world, you get what you pay for. Verizon's network has no equal. If you want to pay less then you go to a different carrier and get less.

You say Verizon has no equal,  so then you have paid top tier prices on every single other carriers plans then I'm assuming,  well Verizon just got beat by t-mobile in data department tests and while their phone service isn't up to Verizons yet it's not far behind so when u say it has no equal, do me a favor and research a little before you say something is the best. At&t phone service is just as good but their data is not, but again it's close plz go read the wireless research information, it's free and Google has it.

That stuff is all bull. Whether on carrier is better reception or faster than the other is highly dependent on location even within the same area. And even time of day. And if T-Mobile is gosh darn great then go with them they have "unlimited" data. Well unless you want to tether/hotspot then it's 14 GB.

You should read their terms. It isn't exactly as much as you want. It changes ever 2 months as to what those limits are.

Yes I am a T-Mobile customer, as well as AT&T, and Verizon.

Verizon with unlimited can't do the things their competitors are doing. If they couldn't either you can bet they'd drop unlimited. Sprint and T-Mobile won't even promise their prices longer than 2 yearso for their unlimited.

Maybe but what frustrates me and it should everyone else is that Verizon gave data plans away before,  they have the technology and the capabilities to do it now, they just won't and instead of everyone reading this and agreeing that they can do it and should do it for all of our benefit, we're arguing over semantics.

They don't... that's the thing you see other carriers offering it, but they do have limitations to said unlimited. Verizon can not make these limitations like their competitors can. Like I said before if their competition couldn't they would remove it. AT&T stopped offering unlimited because they are more than likely going to win the 600 spectrum auction and unlike Verizon they are just prepping their customers to get used to the changes. Sure AT&T offers unlimited data again if you also subscribe to their TV service but read the terms of it. Not all regions qualify, and also they soft cap you beyond 25GB like the other unlimited data plan users.

Verizon $50 unlimited no throttle

Sprint $40 unlimited  20GB soft cap

AT&T  $35 unlimited 25GB soft cap

T-Mobile $30 unlimited 25GB soft cap (cap changes every 2 months)

Be prepared when unlimited goes away for all carriers once they all buy newly vacated spectrum. 🙂

No they do NOT have the capability that's the issue. No offense but if you actually knew how mobile data works you'd get that.
