I got my first Stratosphere on March 16 and it worked for the first few days then it continuously cut out on me, the call time growing shorter and shorter each time. One seven some minutes, then five and then finally two. I have done all the troubleshooting and have even gotten a replacement and the problem still occurs. I have tried using a headset, not using a headset, using speakerphone, using indoors, using outdoors. I honestly believe that it is the phone because both of the ones I received were brand new. I have called customer service, which had no help. I've been reading online that this is a very common problem among the Stratospheres. I have sent an email to customer service and received an automated response back more than once. It has gotten so bad that people do not want to even contact me anymore. I really believe that the option of just getting a totally different phone of equal or less value should be available, such as the iPhone 4, but sadly all customer service has done has offered me the same disappointing model. That is why I decided to take it up to a higher authority since nothing was being done at the local level.

Nothing is going to be done other than what you've been getting. Keep getting replacements until you get a working one. Thats your only option.

Just curious, what is this "Higher Authority" of which you speak?

And have you heard back?

Please keep us informed.....

Does the 'cutting out' happen no matter where you are?  If it happens in some places and not in others, you may have a weak signal in the places where it happens.  If you have a weak signal, it could be because of your location relative to the nearest VZW tower.

If it is a weak signal I highly doubt that I would be able to still hear the other person yelling my name for me to respond like they do now.

I have emailed the Verizon Senior Vice President and all I got was an automated response like every other time.

I refuse to keep getting replacements. Verizon needs to fix this or at least offer an alternate option because having a phone that can't hold calls defeats the purpose of having a phone.

No phone is immune to the problems your having. Send it to samsung because they make the phone and they know how to fix it 10x better than verizon does. Doesnt matter if vz is selling it, or your paying them, its the way it is.

I highly doubt you're actually emailing the president btw. Probably just coporate customer service.

Eric,

Be a little more specific and maybe we can help you out. Are your calls being disconnected or is it static on the line? You wrote that you can hear the person on the other end, but they can't hear you. Is that the problem every time? When you say inside and outside, Is this in one location (your home) or everywhere you go.

Okay here's the routine.

I call the person or they call me.

We talk for 20-30 minuted\s then all of a sudden i hear them say "hello"

over and over again then they hang up.

I have signal, my bluetooth is not on, and I am not using a headset.

They call me back and we talk for 5-7 minutes then it happens again and

again until they get aggravated.

It happens everywhere I go, not just in my house.

Typically, it takes 3 or 4 replacements (for the same problem) before they will offer to get you a different device (and that one will more than likely also be a CLNR).  However, a lot of times, when a problem repeats itself across multiple devices, the blame may come down to a user installed app.  It might be worth it to factory reset (to remove all your apps, though it will clear all other data from your phone as well) and then use your phone for a day or two to see if the issue presents itself.  If it doesn't, re-install your apps one or two at a time, with a couple days of use in between, until the problem does present itself.  When it does, uninstall the last app you installed and see if that helps.  Kind of a time consuming process, but it could prevent you from dealing with this continued headache.
