I am experiencing the same problems as well as awful wifi connections (The main reason I returned the phone). I am now on my 4th replacement and am sick of calling customer service and getting sent refurbs that have the same problem! Yesterday, I spoke with a rep about a replacement phone and all they offered was for me to sell my $200 phone back to them for $75 and buy a refurb Samsung Fascinate from them!! Today, that rep was suppose to call but never did. This is outrageous when countless people have problems with the droid 3 and they do nothing about it.

Also, was on the phone with Motorola last night and after the worst customer service of my life I was told every phone is going to have problems!! Absolutely no resolution for my problems.

wifi has nothing to do with verizon, and if motorola isnt dealing with it i'm not sure what you expect verizon to do here

WiFi has something to do with Verizon if they are the one charging you $250 for the device and requiring you to sign a 2 year contract! Verizon is the seller of the phones, and as such is the party responsible for repair or replacement of said devices. Motorola does not allow for direct to manufacturer returns and exchanges, they require you go through Verizon, making Verizon 100% responsible!

I've had a device replaced through motorola in the past year.. what are you talking about?

http://servicemyphone.motorola.com/iden/support/showProductWarranty.do

Wifi is 100% device and not verizon network related at all, Verizon shouldn't even troubleshoot a wifi issue it has nothing to do with them. I mean honestly verizon will troubleshoot anything because of customers like you, but really why would you want them to when it isn't their service you're having a problem with?

I checked with Motorola customer support again before posting this just to verify.. Motorola will not allow a customer to repair or replace a device directly through them if it was purchased through Verizon or another cell phone carrier (i.e. T-Mobile, AT&T, etc.) they will only provide support if it was purchased "unlocked" without a service contract. This has been their policy for over a decade now. Motorola is ultimately the one who pays for and provides the refurbished equipment, however they do so through the carrier only.

Same story...going on my fourth replacement. A rep actually had the nerve to say "That's what happens when you have android OS. Try Apple." I was just about blown away, but laughed so I didn't go crazy. Here and there, you will get a rep who is unwilling to assist, and believe me, their supervior knows and has them pegged. Anyhow, this replacement fiasco seems to be contagious. Certainly never getting another Motorola, but in Verizon's defense, I've been offered options for replacement that seem to meet some of the needs. However, from working in a competitor's inbound call center (no names), I realize there are certain things you must become acustomed to with phones and service. I will NEVER blame Verizon for a faulty device. They don't sit in their cubicles manufacturing the POS phones and send them to customers, all while laughing. Truly, often times the reps you speak to have little to no power to "fix" or "resolve" a device based issue other than troubleshooting and replacements. They are only allowed to act within company policy, and most times even the highest employed person at their call center doesn't have much more power than they do. Anytime you have a piece of technology, expect it to malfunction. It happens, and there just isn't any getting around it. I accepted this, asked what I could get a new phone (making it clear I was willing to pay, if necessary) and they helped me out greatly by offering a like model replacement instead of same device replacement. It's all about attitude, and if you're rude to the rep, you only have yourself to blame when you can't be helped. Most people (ONLY MOST) who complain about poor resolutions or no customer service were so awful to the rep, that they cannot offer them anything or do anything. It's next to impossible to please a customer who is asking for something you cannot give, and no matter what they will say you did poorly. Just a word of advice: I help all of my customers to the best of my ability, but there is always a willingness to go the extra mile for cooporative and patient customers.

Today I received my 5th Droid 3 only to find that you have to push really hard on the keyboard for the keys to register. Refurbished.

4th Droid 3 would power off when I slid the keyboard back or when I would put it in my pocket. Refurbished.

3rd Droid 3 was never activated.  Slide screen was loose right out of the box Refurbished.

2nd Droid 3-lights on the 4 tap icons on the bottom went out. New but lasted 8 months.

1st Droid 3-took blue pictures.  New.

Wow, not sure what Verizon is thinking.  They are not gaining my confidence.

Funny, the spell check on this site doesn't even recognize "Verizon" as being spelled correctly.

I have most all of you beat!! I started with a Droid x 2 had a small problem called customer service and they sent me a refurb droid 3 due to having no more droid x 2 refurbs to send out. So I got my 1st droid 3 i am currently on my 8th droid 3 and it needs to be replaced.  I have called Motorola on 4 different occasions on 4 different droid 3 phones.  After doing the Motorola reset I still continued to have the same problems. I have gotten 3 brand new Droid3s and all have been POS! I received my current model 4 weeks ago within 15 mins of being out of the box it started with issues come on! So i have tried resetting the phones, checking out all my apps to make sure none of them are the problems, started a brand new gmail account, not installing my sd card into the phone, etc.  Motorola has told me over and over again the problem is with Verizon not their phone ok Verizon tells me call Motorola come on!!  Currently tech support will let me sign a 2 year contract early and PAY even more money to go to a 4G phone or another phone if I would like and that is what they suggest.  I dont want to put more money into a phone that i am going to be right back in this spot in a few months.  I have had any combination up to all of the following issues: phone freezes, turns off, reboots, no tone for notifications or calls, no service including no 911 services, ringtone changing randomly, applications not working, camera not working, internet not working, sends same text 16 times or sends text to 6 random contacts that were no where near the only contact i was sending it too, hanging up on calls, randomly answering calls, resetting itself deleting everything on its own.

i have no answers as to what to do from here.  i have been a customer for over 9 years and am very dependent on my phone.
