Droid Eris Freezing again

My Eris has begun to freeze up, usually after a lengthy phone call. The freezing had been cured with the last update.

Just before this started, several of my apps were updated, so my guess is that it is one of the apps causing the freeze .

Is there a way to determine which app it might be, other than removing apps one at a time (which I will probably start doing this afternoon anyway)?

Try resetting the phone and pull the battery for about 1 to 2 minutes. This should allow the phone to restore the settings and possibly eliminate the issue that you are having.

Thanx for the response, Brittney

Actually, I'm a 51-year-old geek that's been using cellphones since the very early 90s, so the battery-pull procedure is the first thing that I always try by default. Additionally, it appears that pulling the battery is the only way to "unfreeze" the phone.

I meant to post back on this issue, but I suspected an app update since I had done a few app updates and the freezing suddenly appeared immediately afterwards.

It appears, at least at the moment, that the "Toddler Lock" app, a game designed to lock the phone and amuse, well, toddlers at the same time was the cause of the freeze. I uninstalled that app 3 days ago and I've had no freezing ever since. I'm still dubious that this app update was actually the cause, but so far so good. Stranger things have happened, although I'm drawing a blank on that at the moment...

I hope that the app can be fixed as the 3-year-old grandson REALLY likes that game and he'll be asking for it this weekend. OOPS.

Thanx again, Brittney...

Oops, froze up today. It's not Toddler Lock.

chompSMS updated today, which happened to be the next one I was going to un-install. Perhaps that will solve it.

Or not. Again, we shall see.
