Droid Maxx wi fi connection problem

Have had a Droid Maxx for a little over a year.  No problems.  All of a sudden it won't connect to wi fi automatically.  It seems to like it when I'm in Airplane Mode, but then, I can't use the phone for calls.  This is a new problem that has cropped up in the past week or so.  My husband's Droid Maxx doesn't seem to have this problem.  Help!

moopaw75,

We are here to help and find out what is causing your phone to not pick up WiFi connections. When did you notice this started to happen? Was it after installing an update or app? Do you get any error messages when you attempt to connect to WiFi?

I noticed it the past couple of weeks. I was mucking about with some of

the apps in an effort to save memory and battery life. But I can't

remember exactly what I did, I'm ashamed to admit. I also noticed that

along the top (where the wifi symbol, the network bars, and little appear

-- but on the left side of the screen -- that there sometimes appear some

blue stripes. They always seem to clear up, though. Could I have

downloaded an update to something that is causing me problems??

Just as an addition -- I believe the conflict comes with bluetooth. I

don't use bluetooth much, but it seems like I have this problem much more

when I do use it. For instance, I noticed today that I could not connect

to wifi at all -- airplane mode or not -- and that Bluetooth was stuck

halfway between being "on" and "off" -- one place said it was "on" and the

other "off". I rebooted the phone and made sure that Bluetooth was OFF --

now my phone can't get enough of my wifi -- and it's not in airplane mode

either. I guess Motorola kinda knows about this and has no fix?

Thanks,

Mary Edwards

Have you eliminated your Internet router as the problem? Reboot it? Updated the firmware? Changed the wifi channel?

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Moopaw75-

I know that I always connect my phone to Wifi to ensure that I don't go through my data. Let's keep digging. Are you having this problem with just your home Wifi or does this happen with all of your saved Wifi connections? You also mentioned that you're having troubles with placing calls, what seems to happen when you try to make a call or receive a call?

So far, I seem to have solved the problem by making sure that Bluetooth is

shut off. I guess I just have to be careful to make sure of this. It's

probably ok since I don't use Bluetooth all that often. I guess the answer

to this one is -- check the Bluetooth on the phone and make sure it's shut

off. Then you can have an automatic wifi connection and still have the

ability to call.

I would mark this as answered, but don't see any buttons to do this.

Thanks!
