The best way for me to enter an extension is to use the " WAIT" option. It looks like ; . That way, you still have the extension number. However, suppose any changes to the length of the introductory message from a business exist. In that case, you will have to press "YES." For example, on me phone, when I enter "WAIT" before an extension, it asks me, " Send The Following Tones?" Then, I press "YES". The extension will be sent, and you'll be able to reach the extension number.
