Hi everyone, recently activated a droid razr maxx, replacing my droid x2. My son wants to use my old x2 to play angry birds and other games. I want to do a factory reset to erase all my data, etc. but I am afraid after I do this and it gets back to the android guy on the screen that if I go thru the activation process it will make my droid x2 the active phone again and bump out my razr maxx. Is there anyway I can erase all my data without having to activate it and risk messing things up? Thanks.
Eric

The only way you will make it active is to dial *228 and choose option 1, this will program the line and the phone. Once you are done with the factory reset, set the phone to airplane mode, and this will turn off the phone and mobile data radios.

Thanks for your response. The million dollar question, if I do this, will my razr still be my active phone for my cell # or will it now be the x2? I don't want the x2 to be active on my line, I just want to be able to erase it and use it for games.

I did the same thing when I got my MAXX, I reset my Fascinate, and when it first turned on, I turned airplane mode on, and went about setting the phone up to just use wifi. Like I said, the only way the x2 will become the main phone for your line is if you dial *228 and choose option 1 from the x2.

I didn't read it completely heh. Thought he just wanted to do a factory reset without going past the activation screen. Didn't see where he wanted to use it like a "iPod Touch" type of thing.

You had a great video on the first part, I just wanted to add on to it with the non-activation part.
