Galaxy S6 Edge sending messages multiple times

Hello. I use "Messages" instead of the Messages+ Verizon app, as I am not a big fan. I just got my Galaxy S6 edge a couple of months ago, and noticed it was sending duplicates of my text messages to people. I do not receive multiple messages, but I do send multiples. I checked the settings and I can't figure out how to stop this. I believe it has to have something to do with service, but I noticed it's even doing it when I have great service.

If anyone has a solution, please let me know.

dfreds,

I can see where that might get a little annoying for some people. We are here to help get this straightened out.  How long has this been happening? Do all contacts get multiple messages?

It's been happening ever since I got the phone. It does not matter which contact I message. I sends multiple messages regardless of who I text.

Thanks for clarifying, dfreds. This is certainly odd, and I'm sure frustrating as well. Does this happen with every single text to every single contact? Or does this happen randomly, but frequently? Please try going to Settings> Applications> Application Manager> All> Messages> Clear Data- Clear Cache- Clear Defaults. Once this completed, please restart phone and see if the duplicate messages stop.
