Yes. All of them. Several times. I finally caved and did a FDR on the whole device. Wiped it and my SD card clean. I even did the same with the cable modem/gateway from xfinity. I spent quite some time researching all settings and different types used for different situations. I tried several different local ip configurations, enabled port forwarding to my xbox one, reset my old settings. Same issue. I even completely cleared all app data from my Google accounts. That.. that part hurt me a bit(I enjoy dramatic phrases btw, not literally depressed over this lol). Nothing worked. Both comcast AND verizon have heard of this issue before. Neither knew what to do. I've done all they'd suggested as well. Probably why they haven't chimed in on this conversation. There are posts dating March 2013 about this. It's an issue almost 2 years old and increasing it's numbers affected by it daily. There are SO many people online frustrated by this. It's, also, not just android. I've seen iOs posts as well. Iphones and samsung devices have the most complaints by far. Yet, I still see scattered ones about LG and Moto as well.

I have also given in to another evil. I subscribed to a VPN for not a bad price. As I said, it works 100% on the vpn. No issue. No lag. Speed test isn't that far off from original. High security. Allows for my firewall to be at full strength AND fun the vpn client connection. I didn't want to necessarily go this route, but until they fix it with either 5.0.1 (no hope for 5.0) or find the communication errors, then I choose this over destroying my money over wanting to stay connected to my loved ones.

Thank you so much for showing the initiative you did to reach out and help me. I apologize if I kind of bit at you in the beginning. I was sleepless over this and sick to my stomach that my data usage is so outrageous due to something NO one can figure out. Truly, thank you.

I would also like to apologize for what this helpful gentleman pointed out earlier. Though, I assure you I did not intend to accuse or place blame upon the company, it most certainly looks as if I did in context. I was more, pleading, than accusing. The customer service I've received from this company has always been 5-star in my book. Maybe one day you guys will figure it out.

As to anyone else having this issue, I've found only ONE working solution. It's not the safest route to go if you choose the free versions so I'd definitely take advantage of the pay services. A VPN connection protection running with your WiFi DOES allow your phone to access all that were inaccessible prior.

Here's to hoping we figure this out and stop overcharging ourselves just to cure our technophilia.

Have you done a firmware update on your router? I've seen some with this problem asserting that doing so fixed their issue.

Hi, I want to thank you for putting all the legwork in. I added a program that used up all my data. So, until the time cycle for data usage is restored to full. I have been using WIFI. I found the same problems. Thanks to you I am now using a VPN program. And all seems to work as expected
