How Do I Remove The Screen Lock On My Device?

How do I adjust settings so I can change my screen lock to swipe?  It is currently grey, with the message "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage."  I get the same message if I want to use "None" form the screen lock.

Certain applications require a more secure lock screen. One example is the Android Pay application. Scroll further down in the Security menu and view the Device Administrators to see what might be preventing you from removing the lock screen.

In reality, you should have something method to lock the device. The swipe or none option is like leaving your car or home doors unlocked 24/7. Is that something you can live with? If you can't remember the current pass code, change it to something you can remember.

The previous answer is correct, but I would like to add to it. If you add trusted locations and devices (bluetooth connections) to your device, you can disable the lock during those instances, such as at home or connected to your car's bluetooth. Keeping a lock on the device is recommended 100%, but this is a workaround that may benefit you.
