Yes. Take out the cards and dry them in rice as well (NOT instant rice, but regular rice). I've sent phones through the washer, and kept it in the rice for like 5 days before it dried out completely. As long as you turned it off immediately and don't try to power it up when it's still "wet" (that will fry the electronics and permanently destroy stuff!), it hopefully will be usable.
Good luck!

Remove the battery and put it in rice. Keep it in the rice for a couple of days.

Thanks, but I can't open the phone. It has little screws and I don't have a screwdriver to open it. Can I still put it into rice and will it work?

Yeah, put the whole thing in. You just said Droid phone, wasn't sure if it was an older one with removable battery.

Ok, then I'm off to the store to buy a bag of rice.
Thank you.... I'll let you know if it works!
Have a nice day!

Good advice to the OP. I just hope he got it out of the water soon enough that it works for him/her.

It means you may have tried taking it out too soon. Don't try to rush it unless you simply want to purchase a new phone. Leaving it in rice for a couple of days does NOT mean 24 hours. Put it back in and hopefully your impatience did not cause further harm to the phone.
