How can I prevent the 4.1.2 update from installing on my Galaxy S3?

Hello. This is my first time asking a question, so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, and it notified me yesterday of an update. When I noticed it, it had already downloaded on my phone. I wasn't connected to wifi, so I bet it used a lot of my allocated data.

I didn't want to update, so I deferred it for 5 days (this was the maximum).

I am also concerned that my phone will automatically install the update without my approval once the 5 days is up. (4 days left)

How can I remove this update, or prevent the update for installing itself automatically?

Is it possible to delete the update file from my phone's file system entirely?

Thanks for your help!

No, the update will happen.  It did not use any of your data.

I just want it to not install. I have no interest in it's "improvements".

Unfortunately, you are victimized. After the five days it will install by itself. As for the download using data, believe me it did not. Anything sent by Verizon is usually free, such as messages they send on occasion.

Oh, and no, there is no way you can delete it before it installs automatically.

Your phone needs to stay "up to date," or you will have problems down the road.
