How to import my Google contacts

Have a Lgv30.

Under the Account settings in the phone I have the Google Contacts sync turned on - but so far only one ( in the last 24 hrs) contact turned up in my phone!  I have seen this issue with my last phone (a Samsung galaxy s6) - so not sure if a Verizon or a Google Server problem.

I have 488 contacts within 10 groups (and not any Google prenamed group).  I tried importing via vcf files (I created a export file on my PC, then copied to my phones memory and then imported).  But they do not show up in the groups - only as ”one” group.

ANY suggestions/tips?

and what App do ‘you’ use as your group manager on your phone?

i don't import contacts to the phone, just select sync all in settings/accounts/gmail!!

groups have to be pre-named.

In a pinch, add the google contacts app.  But it’s an odd problem.  All your google data should sync with the google Account on your phone

Are you saying add the group names first in the phone?

Mama - thats the mystery - i dont get why the syncing is not working.

and yes have that app.  Thats where i tried the vcf importing.

You should not need to import anything.  Once you add the gmail account to the phone, all related informations syncs.  So either the google Account and password is incorrect, or the phone doesn’t have a connection to internet to sync.

name the group, then add the participants.

i have a few categories on the phone that i don't sync.
