Open the Verizon Messages app on your tablet, then tap the Menu button in the upper left-hand corner.  Scroll down to Settings and tap it.  Scroll down to Disconnect Device and tap it.  In the pop-up asking verification for stopping the service on that device, tap Disconnect.

I'm assuming you are talking about the Verizon Message+ app?  I don't use it, but I'm sure you can disable it in the app on your tablet.

Do you think if I go back to the default messaging app it'll stop it?

Because I can't seem to figure it out.
