I bought a Droid 4 in February, and have been quite happy with it until the past two weeks. Recently, for no apparent reason, the temperature of the device has started jumping radically -- from its typical ~83 F to 115 or even 121 F. This has come with a concomitant decrease in battery life, which I expect to get worse if the problem continues. Generally, this occurs when I'm _not_ charging; the temperature rises to ~92 or so when charging, but not higher.
(Also, when the temperature is elevated, the phone seems to have syncing problems ... although the 4G symbol is active, text messages won't go through.)
So, do I have a lemon? Is there something I can do to keep the temperature down? Any advice?
