LG Ally message received notification

I need help with the message received notification on the LG Ally. I turned on the delivery reports for text and mms messages however the notification was staying on the screen until I powered off the phone. I then went back in and turned off the delivery reports for both and on certain numbers, I still receive the "message received by telephone number" on my screen and it stays there until I power off the phone. Is there anything else I can do to get this to stop?

First lets make sure that delivery reports are disabled.

From the Home screen, touch the applications tab (bottom of the screen).

Touch Messaging.

Press the Menu key.

Touch Settings.

From Text message (SMS) settings, touch Delivery reports.
Enabled when a green check mark is present.

From Multimedia message (MMS) settings, touch Delivery reports.
Enabled when a green check mark is present.

Make sure that there is no green check mark and that Delivery Reports are disabled for both.

Next clear the unwanted messages that you are receiving delivery reports for.

You can delete the messages under the messaging menu, by choosing  a message, then deleting the message. 

You would want to delete all unwanted threads. 

Then lets do a soft reset on the phone.

Soft Reset

Power the phone off.

Remove battery cover, remove battery and reinstall.

Then dial *228 send and option 1 on the phone once it is powered back on.

Thanks, I deleted the messages from that number and did the soft reset and so far it is doing ok.
