LG G7 Android Auto not working,

Myself and other users across the web are having major issues with AA not working correctly. [Oreo 8.0.0] For example, Google Assistant does not comprehend questions correctly.  It's a major frustration since AA worked as expected with my old LG G4. Is there any word on when VZ may fix this issue?

It is important that you are able to use your device safely while you are in a vehicle, zenmica. Is it only the voice recognition that isn't performing the way you need it to, or are there other features of Android Auto that you are having trouble with?

I feel ya' and it's frustrating to say the least.  Supposedly, it's the latest version of Oreo (8.0?).  No clue when an update/fix is coming.

I have been through the mill dealing with this issue with Verizon and LG. Neither seem to want to take ownership. Imo this phone was not tested properly. Don't know if LG, Verizon,  or both are to blame,  but this is pathetic. I paid fool retail for this phone,  and can't get a proper answer when this will be fixed. I'm contacting three FCC and BBB about being sold a phone that doesn't work.

I understand the importance of having a device that performs as expected. Allow us to troubleshoot. I understand you've addressed your concern previously. Tell me more about your experience with your device. What was the last troubleshooting step you've completed? When did you start having issues with your device?

The Google Assistant on the LG G7 does not work correctly. If you try to

use voice to text, it just sits there. "Ok Google", or, "Hey Google",

displays the on screen indicator to speak your command, but, doesn't follow

through. When trying to make a call, it can never dial the correct

contact. When the phone is disconnected from the car, it works fine. My

car is a new 2018 Volkswagen GTI Autobahn and everything worked very well

with my older LG G4, but, the LG G7 has always failed in the the voice

commands and entices one to take their eyes off the road to operate the

phone via Android Auto. I know enough to keep my eyes on the road, but, I

would consider this to be a driving distraction since you can't give verbal

commands. I love the LG G7 when it's not connected to my car, but, a

phone from 3 years ago should certainly not be outperforming it. Do you

know if the LG G7 on a different network will function with Android Auto?

I am not the only person who is experiencing this problem and I wish that

Verizonwireless as a corporation would actually acknowledge the issue and

do something about it. Maybe they plan to turn a blind eye until another

Android OS version is released. I work in tech support and I hope you,

Corey, are not getting beat up about the issue, but, there doesn't appear

to be any movement on the matter. Please do let me know if you would like

me to test something specific. It is disconcerting that I picked up my LG

G7 on June 25th, 2018 and it has never worked correctly with Android Auto.

If VZW is still at the stage of trying to "understand" the issue then I am

certainly not confident that the corporation will actually put forth a

fix.

Zenmica, we are truly sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues when using your new phone. Being safe on the road certainly is key. While this was not an issue that we had previously been aware of, we have sent these details directly to Google in hopes that a software update will be released to resolve this matter quickly.
