Lollipop update causing Wifi issue

Since updating to Lollipop I can't access any apps or email when on Wifi, forcing me to use mobile data.  Is there any fix for this?

Is it one particular wifi or any wifi?  If it is your home wifi that you can change settings on we need to do some analysis on other possibly conflicting wifis.  If you install Wifi Analyzer - Android Apps on Google Play and run it it will show you all the wifi routers that are nearby along with channels and strengths.  If you see another that happens to be on the same channel as yours you need to change yours to another channel that is less busy and weaker.  Available usable channels are 1,6, 11  anything between those shouldn't be used.  I can provide more info as needed.

Hello, I believe I provided this information in my original report. It is NOT just on my home network. It is over several different WiFi connections.

What phone?

Try safe mode first which would rule out a rogue program.

Try to

find instructions on performing something called a low level cache clear and power down your phone and power it back up.

If that doesn't work... Back up all your personal content like music, ringtones, pictures, downloaded content to a pc, write down important settings like email and other user names, and get your password cheat sheet ready..Perform a factory data reset which will wipe your phone. You'll have to set your device up again. Hopefully your contacts have been backed up to Google.

+1 to stef7. After Lollipop, my S5 ran horrible. Constant lagging, dropping me out of service when I knew I had 4G, WiFi not working, phone freezing, you name it. I was seriously at a breaking point. Back up everything to the cloud, pull off all of your pictures and videos, write down all of your apps, and reset it to factory. You do it through the settings menu. It took my about two hours from the time I started until I had all the apps downloaded again (I think I was in the neighborhood of 30-ish apps). My phone now works like it did before the update, and it's still running Lollipop.

Hope this helps! Good luck!!

My apologies for the original snarky response! I had a service request in to LG directly with a little more information.  Thank you for your response!

Hi Stef7, I have an LG3. I did the cache clear and it appears so far to have resolved the issue! Thanks so much! I'll take the more drastic step of factory reset if it comes to it..

Thank you!

Your original post did not indicate whether it was on a single or mutliple wifi, the more information that is provided the easier it is to narrow down problems, have a great day!
