So, now I suppose I'll hold out a bit of hope for a new HTC device (but I'm not holding my breath Smiley Happy).

@Pharoah, you've got guts going down to the AT&T shop!  I'm afraid I'd be impulsive (and I'm carrying a 5-line family share plan...).  Anyways, I have been keeping an I out at work for someone sporting an HTC One in the elevator, or whatever.

no problem and YAHTZEE! ha exactly what I was thinking. After all, Verizon would want to tote about how they have the best but not only from one company but several. I can see where they might talk about the new plan changes also ... but those have already went into effect as far as having to wait 2 full years, instead of 1 1/2 years, to upgrade your phone. I guess they could talk about the rumored "device payment plans" they could essentially allow us unlimited data holders to potential pay outright for a phone but in increments therefore keeping the unlimited.  My point is, there is a lot of possibilities of what they could talk about but considering the whole end of life thing and HTC One blowing minds all across the planet, and the S4 being available a week after the announcement...leads me to believe they're about to have a "hot, sizzling" new phone line up.

Verizon needs to get with the program. Why are they always last in line to get the better phones? I have been with them approximately 15yrs. I asked a Verizon rep about the HTC One & she wouldn't confirm whether they getting it. She then tried to sell me the DNA. I told her I didn't want it but she kept on & on comparing the two phones. I read the reviews for the DNA & told her I didn't want a phone plagued with sim cards not being recognized which forced people to reboot several times a day. Also there were quite a few complaints about the person on the other line having difficulty hearing what was said from the DNA.

I am ready to jump ship. I have been to the AT&T store 3x already. The only reason why I haven't left is because I'm on an old plan & I get a 20% discount. I love the ONE. It's soooo sexy. It was love at 1st sight. A cell phone is like a car you choose it for durability, how it performs, looks & feels. And I'm feeling the HTC ONE!

@random64 I just looked back and realized you're still on a T-bolt too! ha I'm glad I'm not the only one.

ANYWAY back on topic, has anyone posted this little gem yet? http://gadgetinsiders.com/htc-butterfly-2-sighted-on-ota-test-three-variants-expected/1209313/

Also Screen Shot 2013-04-25 at 11.42.06 PM.png

this is all the information I know about the DLXPLUS. This is LlabTooFer's website http://llabtoofer.com/2013/04/01/htc-dlx-plus-new-flagship/ with the specs.... closely related to the HTC One

I also contacted him, this image was not my twitter s/n, "when do you believe the DLX+ will be available, Q2 or Q3?" and he responded back with "Somewhere in between...". Taking that with a grain of salt meaning June or July but hey, we'll just have to wait and see on May 22nd

I agree with you, and have been to AT&T that many times as well.  The car analogy is a good one.

It's a fantastic phone!  I won't accept anything else.

I'll wait until after May 22nd.  My son's phone was bought in May, so I'd have to have it there as its own line, which stinks.

But, HTC ONE is THE phone I want, and I won't be stopped.  So between the 2 plans it'll cost me (I help him pay), but it's worth it to me.  I've been watching the development of this phone since it was first leaked.  They should have kept the M7 name!  But I do love that phone!!!!

I too have been following the news(or lackthereof) on this phone being released on verizon.  I am so damn sick of verizon, the carrier that loves to speak about how great it is.  The carrier that I pay more to be with. And not only are they dragging their feet with the HTC one, they are trying to sell the droid DNA as a comparable phone!  What a JOKE!  The only person who would fall into that trap is someone who is completely ignorant when it comes to cell phone technology.

Also, why is verizon the LAST to release the galaxy s4?  This company better pull it's head out of it's ass.  A lot of people, myself included, are ANGRY about this whole HTC one debacle.  If you're going to toute yourself as a premium company, and get more of my money for that, you better offer me the best phones.  T-mobile and Sprint are getting better, and better and better, and will have LTE up and running more and more everyday.  They will become more attractive by the week and verizon will slowly lose it's place at the top.

@Fortheloveoftech -- Wow that's some great internet sleuthing there.  Smiley Happy.  Alright -- I'll hold out a bit longer for the DLXPLUS...  Assuming it's available with 32Gb.  If not, I'm quite possibly going to barf on my keyboard.

Icipher.....Verizon has always focused on the network. They launched the s3 and note2 later than everyone else too. I'm not saying their strategy is better or worse than the others, but there's no arguing with their success. We pay more for a premium network. Sprint and t-mo may be getting lte up and running and in more places, but considering I was pulling 20mbps on an lte device more than two years ago with Verizon, I'd guess that Verizon isn't too concerned about those 2 companies. I'd rather wait a couple months on a device now and then, than a couple years on real network technology.

AZSALUKI:  You are very correct with what you say about the VZW network.  I read similar posts when the S3 what about to hit the market.  People just could not wait for VZW to get that phone but there were other really top of the line phones you could buy and use.  I chose to wait and get the 32gb S3.  People don't want to wait...they want what they want and they come here and complain thinking the powers that make the decision to sell this product or that product read all these things they  that users come here and say about this product or that product.  It just does not happen with these companies.  They are listening to the product sales people and if that sales person greases their palm enough.  It has been this way for eons and I don't see it changing anytime soon.  They also have a little in the decision about if VZW will make big money off this product or that product and if they make enough of these fantastic decisions they may get a big promotion and be a big shot in VZW.

I choose to stay with VZW because their network will work when I need it at my home and then will it work most places I go and can I afford this.  The phones come second for me but I have always found a phone which will be acceptable to my needs.  I am looking at getting the S4 when VZW gets the 32gb version or maybe the 64gb version (but I understand at&t has that phone sewed up)  The 32gb will be just fine for me with the 64gb card.  If I can't get this phone I will just keep what I got (S3) and wait for something else to come out on VZW.  I don't do contracts so I can change carriers anytime I want but most of the other carriers have networks that are a POS in the area where I live which is somewhat off the beaten path and I will not pay for a home landline in addition to my wireless service.  I would not even mind the HTC 1 if it is put on VZW I would like it real well but it is not going to be on VZW so it is not a consideration for me.  It has been this way for over 20 years now.  One other thing is VZW always works when my wife wants to use the phone and that weighs in heavy on the decisions of what carrier we will use.  She stated that as long as I can make a call when I pick up my phone then I don't care what carrier we use.  Just look at the other carriers service maps and compare.  How much money do you think it will cost the other carriers to even start to come close to the VZW map?  My guess even if they really tried to do that rather than just talk about it in hopes of getting new customers VZW would slowly be changing their network to a newer better network as they have with LTE.  Technology changes fast to make our lives better.

Look at how fast phones have changed and think about the future phones to come out in the next year and past.

Good luck with those who want this phone (HTC-1) but you may be want to look at other phones or be prepared to change carrier and accept whatever service you get in the areas you live and frequent.

@Fortheloveoftech- So what is possibly different with the DNA Plus vs. the HTC ONE.  If that LlabTooFeR spec list was correct it would have a slower processor.  The only difference I would expect is 4.2.2 version (heck 5.0 by time they come out with something).  It does give a speck of hope or it was an April Fools joke!

Had to torture myself, so I went to Best Buy and got to see the HTC ONE next to the Samsung Galaxy S4.  I've been drinking the Verizon Red Water for so long, I tried to convince myself the S4 was a decent choice.  I have to agree with many reviewer's closing statements saying S4 has overwhelming features, but reviewer preference went to the HTC ONE.  Too bad so many Verizon customers probably won't get to make a choice.  I decided to wait until May 22nd before leaving - I cannot compromise with the S4 - just like the S3 it seems so cheap.
