the guy on twitter may not be American. maybe that is why his sentences aren't totally formed. he may be Taiwanese and only knows a limited amount of English but i still trust him, i just want to know more clear information soon.

Wow.. ok. Well, he is well respected in the Android community and is a ROM developer. Obviously English is not his first language but he gets his point across.

I gave up on the HTC One for VZW. Had that come along in April I would have bought it for full price, but at this point I do not see it ever dropping for VZW, and even if it does, it will be too long after the other carriers have released it. Say it drops for VZW in July...all that means is that VZW is giving us the option to have a 4 month old Phone; 5 months before the new crop of phones drop for the holidays. You may as well wait at that point for the newer phones that come out in November/December.

@UgXvibe,

The guy does seems to be a respected ROM developer and (more importantly) he made a similar call last Sept '12 regarding Nov. '12 release of HTC DNA for VZW.  So, yeah, this is probably the most credible rumour regarding HTC One at VZW thus far Smiley Happy.

, I fully understand and respect your decision with technology and delayed launches.

BUT, I like to compare technology purchases like a car for example. I don't lease cars, I don't buy cars every year or two and trade up. I buy a car, and I get all the comfort and gadgets that make me happy, then I run that mother to the wheels fall off or some jackwagon t-bones me, wash rinse repeat.

When you buy a car, as soon as it's off the lot, it's used goods, resale just dropped a couple grand. Even with all the latest gadgets on it, rest assured, there are new gadgets in the works that make yours outdated in say 30 days, couple months whatever.

The same principle I think applies to smart phones. If VZ launches this phone in July, it will be 3-4 months behind the tech curve, and rest assured, new phones will be on the way that will meet or beat The One. BUT, for me, when I bought my Orig Dinc, 3 years ago, it was a huge upgrade from my moto razer flip phone. I more than likely will buy The One in the near future, and it will be a huge upgrade from my Orig Dinc. However, circumstances for me are not to have the latest and greatest, or keep up with the Jones, because you will always be spinning your wheels and be behind. For me, right now, I'm still at least retaining my sanity because heck, I'm running JB 4.2, which even the guys with the new The One phone can't say that, unless they have root and dev support. It's not as fast on my phone by any means but it tides me over for now.

My real dillema will be if for some reason my phone died tomorrow, then I'm in a pickle, because the waiting game will be over for me and I'll probably be in an ATT store. Which I dread, because two friends have ATT, and I HATE talking to them on the phone, either dropped calls, or ever 2 or 3 words is Wah wah wah, can't decipher it. VZ has the best network, out there, hands down, and that is the main reason I play this waiting game. Again, to each his own, and those that jump ship, rock on, you guys will have a fun time and enjoy your new phones, I'm sure...

@summit21 - that is an attractive deal.  I'm tired of the 2-3 more months rumors although I believe something from HTC equivalent or better to the ONE will hit Verizon in the future..  Is there any downside with buying from Costco vs. AT&T store?

It is a sweet deal. But i'll presume that you already know the negatives that can come from buying a phone from a 3rd party.

there's different terms. sometimes better, sometimes worse. usually the return policy and/or ETF is a bit different. i usually buy from verizon (online, when there's better online deals), but i got my last phone (gs3 for my son) from best buy. just read the terms wherever you buy a phone and there won't be any surprises.

Thanks for the feedback.  I usually order in store or online so I will have to review carefully.
