I tried to call the line to cancel my service last night.  It was so busy, that there was too much of a wait.  People are calling in droves!

So, I called today.  I talked to the rep about cancelling because they didn't pick up the HTC ONE.

He said, "That's a great phone!  I know it'll be my next one!"  oookkkay..

I said, "But you aren't carrying it and I'll take my business elsewhere to where they will carry the phone."

He told me to hang on.  There was a bit of a hold.

When he returned he said, "There's no reason to go.  The talk here is that we'll have announcement about carrying this phone.  The talk in the office is that an announcement will be made later this month. Everyone here is talking about how we're going to be carrying very soon."

Another guy with another rumor... he probably just wanted me to stay with the company, but who knows?  I guess we'll all find out soon, and then make our decisions as to how this is (or isn't ) handled..

A HUGE part of me just wants to buy out my contract and be done with them.

I've been following this thread and other various news on this subject for a while now, decided it's probably time I commented directly on the matter. Like many of you, I've been with Verizon for a while now and I've become quite tired of the company's phone selection (or lack thereof) over the last two years or so, and that's being generous...

I've been sitting on an upgrade for almost a year now and I STILL have not found a phone worthy of signing another two year agreement with this company. I came across the HTC One and thought to myself "Okay, I've found my phone. This is what I've been waiting for.." Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to frustration when I learned that Verizon would NOT be carrying the HTC One.

As stated earlier, I have been a loyal customer to VZW and this does not sit well with me. Naturally, you would think that being a customer of one of the largest network carriers you would have access to a wide range of handsets from various manufacturers, but you'd be wrong in this case. The bottom line is this; you either keep the customers happy and give them what they want or they go somewhere else and find what they're looking for.

Your move Verizon.

If Verizon wants to do something right, they will make an announcement by the 19th of this month, which is supposed to be  when the ONE will be available at ATT and Sprint stores.

I would also assume HTC will probably start their advertising campaign around this time as well?

No announcement and more people aware of this phone = verizon losing subscribers.

If Verizon wants to do something right.....

If I was Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile I'd be doing something right, RIGHT NOW! I'd be going after Verizon's customers! I'll bet their market analysts SCOUR threads like this for competitive info!

If I there were another carrier in my area with even DECENT service I'd jump, but the other carriers here have horrible service. Verizon's network (at least here) is really exceptional.

That would be an EXCELLENT marketing tool!

If they would pay a certain amount toward ending your Verizon contract, many more people would jump over right away (like me, for instance). If some incentives from the other carriers were given to Verizon customers who want the pure phone, it would be double the goldmine they're going to make on this phone!  Good idea!  You're hired!

I am quite certain of two possible outcomes for the HTC ONE on VZW.

1) It'll be the next iteration of the Droid DNA (Butterfly)

2) It'll be the next iteration of the Droid Incredible line. (Just as the INC 4G LTE was to the ONE X)

VZW is all about exclusivity and they realize that the "DROID" moniker has worked. People come in asking about getting one of those DROID phones they hear about. They have no idea that the same phone (or the original intended by the manufacturer) is available at other carriers under a different name. It works for verizon, up to a point when people can tell the difference between quality of products, I would imagine that the lack of a real HTC ONE on VZW may finally turn a few heads.

I could be wrong and this device will end up just as the ONE X got diluted into the DROID Incredible 4g LTE and nobody was any the wiser, they're satisfied with their DNA's now.

I won't be surprised if we see a plastic version with less storage that comes with red accents. It'd be a shame to not carry a real phone like the ONE. I'm tired of my plastic toy of a phone. I'd switch but they have my by the contract for another 18 months or so. By then the ONE will be old news.

The Inc 4G LTE was nothing like the One X(+). I will heading to ATT soon, contract up end of May if no concrete release by mid June for the HTC One or variation of.

Why would anyone choose to use T-Mobile network? Or Sprint? I have never

heard so many complain of dropped calls and slow to no data speeds. At&t

and Verizon are the only option for fast 95% reliable coverage and service.

The HTC One is getting ready to launch in less than 2 weeks now and nothing

from Verizon yet! I'm getting nervous, one would think that within the next

3 weeks with as much attention it has drawn and how marketable this thing

is.........that Verizon would announce they too will be releasing it and

have a Verizon exclusive of course in red with a 64gb option of course! If

they thrown in an sd card slot and beef up battery to 2700mah I'll never

even talk about leaving them again!

I have been with verizon for many years. I have been far less than satisfied. I have had many over the phone battles regarding boloney bill charges. They constantly claim to have the best coverage. I go camping alot and every time I go, my friends with AT&T and even Sprint for god's sake always have full bars while I have zero. The only reason I have stayed with this company through crap customer service and crumby service had been the devices. Now that I cant get the phone I want Im so gone.

There are rumors that they don't want to release the One because they have and support the DNA, however the DNA is a horrible device and incomparable to the One. They should cut their losses with it and move on. They should also stop harassing the device company regarding putting the ugly verizon logo on things. I'm so sick of looking at that thing on my phone. It just reminds me what a crappy company I pay bills to.

I'm gonna wait a month see what happens, if they pick the phone up or not. After that I'm so paying out of my contract and going elsewhere.
