Why on earth would you say in the last part of your statement that if VZW gets the phone you want you will stay with VZW when you tell us how terrible the service is you receive in the first part of your statement.  You also go on to tell us how awful that your billing has been as well.  Things just don't fit together here.  Anyone which has received that many issues caused by the carrier they use would be gone already when the contract is up as soon as some other carrier has the phone they want regardless of what VZW does.  If you go to at&t, good luck with what they give you.  I don't know anything about the rest of the carriers.

I'm sorry I'll elaborate. For many a year verizon has tried time after time to charge me petty amounts for "data usages". They're only around $1.30 each month but when I have unlimited data it is annoying to see them there.

I'll stay with them if they pick up the phone, because I obviously don't want to pay to terminate the contract early. I have not left in the past, because my family has had really old phones that cant be used in family plans. This year they have upgraded and have a AT&T family plan. So now if Verizon doesn't step it up, I'll join their family plan.

I have to laugh. I've been going page by page in forum topics and this one (no pun intended), by far, has the most views/replies. I'd bet a lot that there are some higher ups reading through this thread.. I just don't get why they just will not reply or give us some kinda reassurance that we need not be browsing other carriers for the One. I find myself weekly adding the One to my 'cart' at both Sprint and AT&T just to get that close to having one... Believe me, it's so tempting to just hit that Submit button on pre-ordering that beautiful Glacial Silver 32GB HTC One at AT&T (which includes a free HTC Media Link Adapter) and just eating the early termination fee...

I'm starting to think I need a support group.. this may be the best place for it.

Verizon higher-ups are not reading this thread. There are moderators to what what we say and post..That's it.

Verizon has millions of subscribers. They will do what they want and when they want. They don't listen to a few hundred people who want a certain phone.

I mean, has anybody who's said they are going to cancel their account been contacted? No.

HTC is partly to blame as well. The ONE was supposed to be available in March. That's why they had their own separate launch event before MWC, and to get a jump on the S4. They've lost that edge now.

Who knows when we'll see Verizon's version.

I talked to a sales rep this weekend, and they had no idea about when. They said it's basically a matter of hours before they know what phones are coming out, that they can start selling.

I'm outta here May 1st.

It's become my support group.  I'll admit it.  It's good to be around like-minded people with the same goal about something..even if it is a phone!

Sorry if this has been asked before and is a repeat question. Is it possible to take the Unlocked/developers version of the HTC One and put it on the Verizon network? I fear that Verizon is going to bastardize this beautiful phone and I don't want to see some red plastic montrosity. I would prefer to stay on this network since my family is on the same network but after 12 years of getting N-1 generation phone equipment, random service charges and horrible software updates/bloatware, I may have reached my limit with Verizon's mismanagement of ther customers.

I was wondering the same thing. I shot them an email to ask.

My "issue" with that is I don't want to spend $600+ on a phone that Verizon SHOULD offer for $199 on a two year upgrade! I don't mind the two year contract, as nobody else can compete with VZW where I live. They can take my money every month but should certainly offer the devices to COMPLIMENT their excellent coverage/service.

Here was the reply:

Dear ,

Thank you for contacting HTC technical support; I will happily assist you with your inquiry.

I want to start off by thanking you for taking an interest in our latest released device to fulfill your smart phone needs. To answer your question:

Our HTC One developing edition is compatible on these frequencies: - HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz - GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz - LTE: 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz (US), please check with Verizon to see if their network frequencies fall within these standards.

I hope this information has been helpful, . Should you need further assistance, do not hesitate to contact us. Our hours of operation are from 8am to 1am, 7 days a week for your convenience. You may also reach us by phone at 1-866-449-8358 or feel free to visit us at /www.htc.com/us for more information on our products.

That tells me that if I want a HTC One (non-Verizon-diluted) device I have to cough up $600+, but it will indeed work. This may actually be a solution for me, if I can pry that money out of my wallet. Guess I'll wait and see what VZW does.
