All I know is that if the Nexus 6 isn't available from VZW by the time my contract is up for renewal in March, then I'll take my $96 a month to Sprint or AT&T, and pay half of what I pay now for the same service.
Nothing worse than a company that doesn't listen to, or care about it's customer!!!
So, +1 for Nexus 6
And for the record I don't think we should have to buy the phone from an outside source. Part of the reason I've put up with the amount I pay is for the discount I receive on a new device at renewal time. Therefore if the device isn't available when it's time to renew than it must be time to switch carriers.
It's all heresay. One of my good friends is a district manager and they legitimately have no idea when the N6 will come out, if it will be locked down, or if it will be edge eligable.
I have priced my plan through Sprint/T-Mobile and it is over 20%/mo savings and I could get the N6 tomorrow... but their coverage isn't as good in the rural areas I sometimes visit.
That said, I am out of contract at this point and getting impatient, so going out of service a couple times a month might be worth it.
Hey! Guess what? If you buy it from an outside souce you will probably save money! Look at the no contract discount structure
this is what i've been trying to say. it depends on your plan and which discount you get though. if you do qualify for the $25 discount though, you could just use that $25 per month to finance it with motorola. it's nearly getting the phone for free, verses paying $200-300 to verizon if it does come to verizon. plus you're still off contract. i don't really know why anyone would buy it from verizon if they are eligible for the $25 per month discount. over 2 years, you'd save $600 and pay $650 for the phone. I promise that even if verizon does end up carrying it, it won't be for $50.
Where are y'all seeing that you will get the $25 credit with this phone? I looked into that, and had several Verizon cs people tell me you only get the credit if you get an 'edge up' phone-which the nexus is not. I specifically asked is I could get the credit if I bought the nex6 from Google and was told no. Also, you get the credit when you use the 'edge up', but when you pay the phone off, THE CREDIT GOES AWAY.
I had several different Verizon people tell me this, on the chat, the 1_800 CS line, and in the Verizon store.
Tldr, you can't get the credit if you but the nex6 from Google or Moto.
It's a no contract discount. I have the discount on my account and no phones on Edge. Every single person on a More Everything plan and no contract can have the discount
