No phone calls received on tablet

I am very annoyed. When I had my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone and A 10 Tablet, calls made to my cell number would ring on my tablet and I could answer on that device.

Now, I have the Samsung Galaxy S21+ 5g cell and a Samsung S5e tablet and that option is not available. I know I can text and place calls using the tablet with message +. I am specifically speaking of receiving calls.

It's not as though this isn't possible, since all carriers with the exception of Verizon and AT&T allow it. I don't understand what the problem with having this service is and would like someone to let me know.

Thanks.

The tablet isn't FCC licensed or have the hardware or software to send and receive calls independently of the Messages+ application

Then why was it allowed on the A10 tablet? And why is it allowed with all carriers except Verizon and AT&T. Here is the information from Samsung.

Samsung and/or Verizon and AT&T have restricted it. As I noted previously the tablet isn't FCC licensed or have the hardware or software installed to independently make or receive call.

Even the A10 tablet requires you to sign into a Samsung account on both your phone and your tablet for the calls to be routed to the tablet. If you didn't have a Samsung account or weren't signed in on your tablet, the tablet wouldn't be able to make or receive a call.

I have no problem having to sign into a Samsung account.

A tablet is not a cell phone. The number is there for data. You can always use VOIP over data, though. The tablet isn't going to natively function like a phone would.

Thank you so much. This was a big help. I found the phone icon on message+, enabled it, and it now rings. It's too bad that nobody at Verizon I was texting with knew about this.
