I woke up this morning and my Galaxy J1 says I don't have a sim card. I removed it and put it back on a few times and it still isn't working

Might need to visit a corporate Verizon store for a free replacement SIM.  You can order online or call Verizon, but shipping times might be 5-10 days.  A store is the fastest path.
