Not receiving all text messages

I am not receiving all text messages.  I have a Droid RAZR HD and I've noticed that I'm not getting all text messages.  It is a mix between regular and picture messages, from both Verizon and Non-Verizon customers, android and apple devices, and in group and individual conversations.

I really don't know what's going on, but it's incredibly frustrating to get yelled at by my wife for not answering her text messages, or be in a group conversation and only seeing parts of the conversation.

Help please!

Yeah, definitely no good when cell phone issues start causing marital problems... I feel your pain.  I wonder if you may have inadvertantly added numbers to your reject list... Can you recieve any of your wife's messages?

I am having the same issue.  MMS are sent and received (even ones with text in them).  But SMS does not work.  Already tried everything in the troubleshooting guide except for a hard factory restart, which I really don't want to do.  I uninstalled all recently updated apps as well.  Galaxy S III here.

Suggestion:  Maybe the SIM has malfunctioned on some level.  It's a small chance, but also a free fix.  Chat, call, or go to a store for a free SIM.

Could be a transmission problem instead of a receiving issue.

A few things could be the issue if you're having trouble sending/receiving messages:

The app itself- You can force stop the application and clear data via the application manager in settings

Memory-  If your device is out of memory, or running low you may have issues with receiving messages

Your device not syncing with vzw billing to know that you're allowed to receive messages-Power device/remove sim card.

Clearing data shouldn't delete your messages, but to be on the safe side you should backup your messages.  If none of this works, you may need to call in and get some troubleshooting done.  Good luck with your messages!

I do receive some messages from her (most actually), just not all.  She is also a Verizon customer though on a seperate bill.
