On the Apps page, I've accidentally created a folder, it's empty. I long-pressed it and dragged it to the red trash can at the top of the page, but after I released, the folder was not deleted. How do I get rid of it?

Try pressing the Menu key and then Edit before long-pressing, if you haven't tried that yet. After the deletion, press Menu again, and then Save. This trips me up all the time.
