Photo albums missing after Verizon update on HTC One 8m

My phone just installed an update from Verizon and now over 4,000 photos are no longer in my Gallery......??????!!!!!!

Did you have auto back up on to Google? This helps if any mishaps occur with a cell phone or android tablet.

If you did the photos should be there in Google
