Oh no! There is no way to revert back to a previous version. We can understand that these issues can be upsetting. Have we bene able to to any troubleshooting with you, CountriGal?

No troubleshooting other than both my husband and my own phones became worthless about the same time.  I continually have to restart the phone in areas where I know there is signal to get it to locate the signal once it has dropped it.  And I continue to not have any signal sitting at my desk with my booster, where before the booster had it working.

If I perform a hard factory reset, then I lose all my apps and set ups, and have to re-do all that, right???  Really do not see a good reason to do this, if others have had the same issues, have went through those steps, and still experiencing those problems.  Seems that a better solution would be to actually solve the problems themselves and push that out to the phones.

If you back up your information via Google, once your phone comes back online, everything will be downloaded and set back up automatically via your Google back up.

So, I did a hard factory reset, after verifying that my information was backed up via Google.... and not only did it not solve the problem but it also did not automatically reset everything.  So now I've only loaded those "must have" apps back onto the phone and still have no signal 90% of my day.  Any other suggestions to fix something that is not unique to my phone but seems to be standard with the kitkat upgrade?  I need a working, reliable phone, and right now I really do not have that!

I live in Chicago and was recently travelling in LA and Houston. Starting on 29 June, I had no indoor reception but since I was in an unfamiliar area in SoCal, I assumed it was the network there. Then in Houston, I received texts HOURS after they were sent, and my battery was draining at a rate of 30% per hour (I left the hotel with 100% and 2.5 hours later was at 15%). I also seem to have used up 90% of my data allowance (fortunately as of the last day of my billing cycle) but didn't do anything unusual. I have NO 4G, am having trouble texting and when I get a phone call - it often doesn't ring (when the sound is on and up) but then I get a loud "ping" to tell me I have a voicemail message or text. WHAT is going on? The device is 8 months old - and I just checked and I, too, have Android version 4.4.2.

Hi Vballmom!

Let's see what's causing the problem! Based on your description it definitely appears to be a device issue. Any physical or water damage? Have you recently downloaded any new applications?

Thanks,

I have been having this problem since upgrading to kitkat. My signal is horrible and I can watch the signal fluctuate while standing still from no service to 3-4 bars of LTE. All while standing in my office where I used to get great LTE consistently. The phone is NOT rooted and running stock android kitkat from Verizon. When it was running android 4.3 I had no problems at all. Here are the things I have tried

1. reboot - still bad

2. Boot into safe mode - still bad

3. factory reset - still bad

4. Re-flash factory kernal - still bad

5. Replaced sim card - still bad

I am at my wits end.

PS and no there is no water or physical damage, and no it isnt in a case of any kind.

Hi mikebbass!

I apologize for the inconvenience, let's look into this! Current zip code? Do you only experience the issue while located in your office?

Thanks,

Hi thanks for the quick response,

the poor signal quality and fluctuating signal strength happens everywhere and has been occurring since the update. In my house we have 2 iphone 5's, the note 3 and a galaxy tab 2 10.1 all connected to verizon with sim cards. ONLY the note 3 has this issue and it only started after the update to kitkat. I dont know what troubleshooting could possibly be left other than to replace the device.
